their experiences. These 18 months to 2 years are the most significant months of their lives so far and will have the most profound effect on their lives in the future. Of course, they want to remember....and don't we want them to remember?
So, WHY, then is it important to remember these experiences? Besides being fun to look back at the memories....there is real power and strength that comes from REMEMBERING our past. A single picture with a simple descriptive phrase, can trigger memories of people, places, and experiences where love, faith, and spiritual growth took place. The remembering of these experiences is key to remembering the lessons learned and the tender feelings associated with their service and conversion that took place in the missionaries heart and the hearts of those they served. REMEMBERING these spiritual experiences and the feelings associated with them keeps them connected to God and Christ and THEIR ways when real life sets in.
Why did God have the prophets write down their teachings and the history of the people in biblical times? God wanted the HIS people to REMEMBER! In the scriptures themselves, there are dozens of verses counseling us to REMEMBER God and His covenants and teachings with HIS people.
There is no greater gift than to help our missionary's mission be documented, preserved, and cherished now and for generations to come!
I love helping people get started on this journey. I have created a template for a missionary book that I share for FREE! All you have to do is drag and swap out pictures and the text. I have done most of the work for you. The hardest part is deciding what pictures to use. Contact me at 623-215-5321 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to share the template with you. www.heritagemakers.com/denise is where you get your free account. Click link below. Go into "Project Ideas" on the tabs and you can see the book I did for my son. I am currently making one for my daughter so yes, there is a girl version:) I look forward to hearing from you!
