For the Pehrsons having a family theme is a must!! Every December we get excited to think about what it is we want to really improve on this year...what do we want to focus on and how do we want to become better as a family? We think and pray about it...and then we have some fun trying to come up with the little rhyme. When I found Heritage Makers, I was so excited to be able to put our family theme up on the wall, framed and looking oh ,so cute!! In the past, I just printed it out on typing paper....we had moved up in style!! We also have our family recipe, framed and on the wall....It is our "Family Wall" that helps us remember what we are all about....helps us remember our focus and purpose!! In this world, where there are so many things pulling at families....this yearly tradition is one way to keep our family tightly knitted together! This is helping to define our Family Heritage! What is your family heritage? How can you preserve it? Think about it....it is the single most important thing that matters.....your family! Make it matter! If you want to make your own family theme...click on the link below. I will share my templates with you or you can create your own....choose "BRONZE LEVEL" (30.00) and you will get theme page and the poster and 10.00 more to spend anyway you want:) Contact me with questions. It is the best money I have ever spent. Happy Heritage Making!!
I created this 18 X 24 poster with Heritage Makers. At the top it says "Christlike Heroes." We each took a turn once a month to choose someone that was a Christlike Hero to us. We shared why this person was a Hero to us and then we placed their picture in the corresponding monthly box. We chose people from the scriptures like King David for his courage, Nephi for his ability to forgive his brothers and Esther for her courage and love of her people. We chose family members like Grandpa White and Aunt Tricia. Sometimes friends were chosen, and I chose Corrie Ten Boom for one of my Christlike Heroes. I dressed up like her and told her story. I have never read anything so inspiring as her autobiography. To me, she exemplified Christlike Love! I wanted my kids to know her. It was a great year, learning about Christlike attributes and how different people both living and dead truly showed us how to love and have courage and forgive and stand strong in the defense of truth and serve, etc. It was an amazing year long journey of then trying to emulate those qualities and be someone else's hero!! 2013 was a great year!! What will 2014 hold?!?
